 "Classic Freakum" 2.21.09

U Can Entertainment

Presents:

"Classic Freakum"

2.21.09

Club Center

The masses from Detroit, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh gathered for a night called "Classic Freakum" last Saturday night at The Club Center.  'Classic Freakum' was all about live performances from Lil' Vicious and Fudgie Springer, but it was much more to be seen before the stage show began.  It was clear the crowd came to this bash ready to party as the dance moved on to about 6am.  Once again, you just had to be there!

In true dancehall fashion, the bash filled up at around 2am.  As more partygoers arrived, tunes from Star Temple CB warmed the crowd with some lovers' rock and old school dancehall favs.

Enter the large group from Pittsburgh (including Vybz Machine with Fudgie Springer) plus Detroit's Nocturnal Dance Crew and the anticipation was on the rise in the place...

New Horizon Monk played a few tunes to get the crowd hype, including 'So Special' that had the girls walking out on the dance floor.  Keeping the party vibes going, Organik Sound took over the music as Leisa Engel called out to the ladies and DJ Chubby played this season's hottest tune, "Rompin' Shop".

As the dance moved into full party mode, Nocturnal heated things up with some new dance moves (and cutie cute skirts).  But the Cleveland masses were not to be outdone as they danced out on the floor to represent.  Big up Lady Spyda, Trini and of course Destiny for doin' your thing on the dance floor (.and on the table, AND with the table) Much love to Destiny for that impromptu performance, it was great to see you out in true form, ma! - Be sure let us know when that tune drops!  (Like I said, you had to be there!)

Also in the crowd for the mad bash were YHP Superdee, Star Temple Ricky Hype, New Horizon Curly and Doe Doe, DJ Jus Play, Maggie and Janelle Untouchable (working it out), Coco T, Rich and Naw Talk Crew, Anne Marie Blasé, Reggae Boyz, Tanya Classic, Lady Pam, Tracey, Eva Ready Camille (not going to say it!), Summer Body Suzie Q and Stacey.  Big up Lady Styles and Shotta in the place representing Detroit snapping pics (stay tuned for her review on www.detroitreggae.com!)

The host for the event, CD Miller AKA Corkskroo, says he was pleased with the turnout and wants people to know, "Yes, this is my first dancehall event in Cleveland, but, I am not new to this, I promote all type of events from Hip Hop to Latino in other cites including New York and Toronto."  Miller also says the success of this bash also gave him that extra push he needed to promote more dancehall events for Cleveland.

So look out!  If "Classic Freakum" was just a sample of what this promoter will bring to the table in '09, it is going to be a GREAT year!

Be sure to check out the pics from the dance.  Trust, there was so much action in the place See-Shellz and I could barely keep up!  Thanks Destiny for sending CBC more pics to add to the photo gallery.

Enjoy!
